It's July and it’s the height of summer. I simply love this month and all the sun drenched days to bask in the warmth, savouring every moment .
Every weekend seem to be a picnicking weekend somewhere in the glorious countryside among the bees and the butterflies. There is an overwhelming joy and calm in hearing birds and bees all around and listening to their chatter. It reminds us all that Earth is home to other beings and not just us humans.
It’s that time of the year when we feel closer to nature and all its wonderful bounty. I love foraging for blackberries and crab apples in the countryside on a lovely sunny day to take home to make all sorts of delicious summer jams and pies.
I so look forward to the weekend, to throw open the back doors and step out into the garden to potter about while the coffee is brewing.
It’s a joy to see the garden change week by week - suddenly you see a plant just blossom that you forgotten you planted! That to me is the rewards of gardening, seeing the unexpected.
Most flowers and especially the roses are having their second flush providing lots of cut flowers to bring indoors. There is nothing lovelier than home grown flowers that simply fills the house with beautiful scent.
This month RHS Hampton Court Flower show returns with more magnificent gardens. As well as the show gardens, there will be lots of interesting shopping, live music, great food and lots more for you to enjoy.
So plan your visit well and make the most of a wonderful day out.
Happy July!
Warm regards
Tara
