I love April, for me, this is the month I really feel the changing of the seasons. Spring has really sprung! and it feels like every corner is bursting with colour and blossom.
The ornamental cherries are the jewel of spring. It’s as if the whole landscape falls silent for a moment, allowing the cherry blossom to erupt in a blaze of glorious pinky froth. There is nothing quite as lovely as a blossoming cherry, to lift spirits and dazzle us with her beauty.
If you love to see spectacular blossom then go to - national trust.org.uk to discover all the places where you can go to see cherry trees in full blossom.
It’s that time of the year to throw open the back door and tidy up the garden in readiness for sitting outdoors. With lighter warmer evenings, I am really looking forward to inviting friends around for a glass of wine and some simple delicious food.
Lots to look forward to next month with the upcoming flower shows and I am so excited to see what’s new in the plant world and to get some inspiration.
RHS Malvern Spring Festival kick starts the shows from 9-12th May, followed by the amazing RHS Chelsea Flower Show from 21-25th May.
One thing to note which is great news is that RHS are pursuing car-free and low-carbon travel options for visitors to RHS gardens and shows. You can check all the travel options that RHS has to offer by going on to ‘Plan your visit ‘ at rhs.org.uk
Happy April
Warm regards
Tara
