Crackers with Caramelised Onion, Marmalade & Brie are the perfect party bite with all manner of drinks. Little bite sized portion of something delicious and pleasing to the eye.
Historians believe the French borrowed the idea of Hors d’oeuvres from the ancient Greeks and Romans, who use to serve a selection of small dishes before the main course.
My hors d’oeuvres are easy to make using just a handful of ingredients, totally tasty and your guests will love.
The one important thing to remember when making these or any canapés- is to make sure the base of your canapé is strong enough to hold the topping and therefore easy to pick up and eat.
Crackers with Caramelised Onion, Marmalade & Brie
This is so simple to make and absolutely no cooking involved. The topping is both sweet and salty- the perfect combination. You can choose a different type of cheese if you prefer. I sometimes put Stilton on top.
Ingredients:
Small Crackers
A jar of Onion Marmalade
Brie
Crushed Walnuts
To assemble
Spoon a teaspoon of onion marmalade on top of the cracker
Top it with a slice of brie
Scatter over crushed walnuts
When ready to serve
Always serve all your Hors d’oeuvres on neutral platters if you can so they really stand out.
Perfect for relaxed drinks with friends and family, leaving lots of time for you to chat, enjoy the occasion and make memories.
