There is nothing more welcoming than a hand crafted wreath for your front door. Creating your very own foraged wreath is far lovelier than picking up a ready made one.
I love using as many natural materials as possible when making my wreath for Christmas and foraging around the garden is so satisfying and fun.
Even a small garden like mine provides an abundance of moss, Ivy, conifer, Holly and lots of other evergreen cuttings, to make the perfect wreath.
To make the wreath, I start off with a wire base which I reuse every year. Then I cover the base with lots of moss, using floristry wire to secure moss to the base. I then start to add my mixed greenery in small bunches, securing it all to the moss base with more wire until the wreath is complete.
Finally add a beautiful bow made from ribbon of your choice and colour scheme. A wreath is not just for Christmas so why not celebrate other seasons with a sustainable foraged wreath.
There is no limit to what you can use from nature to create your very own bespoke piece .
Dried flowers, seed heads, twigs, grasses and even feathers can all be foraged to embellish your wreath.
Warmest Christmas wishes
