First cherry blossom
On these dark wet February days it’s a joy to see the first cherry blossom appear in the garden. The flowers so dainty, small and perfect sitting on the branches like beautiful glistening jewels. I just had to bring a couple of branches indoors to brighten up our living room.
Never underestimate the power of a few blooms whether it’s from your own garden or the supermarket, flowers can brighten up the darkest days, lift your mood and add welcoming warmth to your home.
Daffodils
Nothing speaks of spring more than a handful of daffodils, they surely are a reminder that spring is very much around the corner.
I rather favour the creamy varieties mixed in with their more traditional yellow cousins. Having planted an array of different daffodil bulbs last autumn, I am so delighted with the result!
I've been picking handfuls every week to dot around the house. I love mixing my daffodils with twigs from the garden to create a little drama and I find the flowers really stand out this way.
You can use the twigs again and again and they seem to last forever!
Bring nature indoors, find whatever is blooming in your garden or even just some evergreen branches.
Enjoy the process of arranging them, it’s good for all your senses and seeing what you have grown brought indoors will surely fill you with joy.
Warm regards
