Tara's March 2024 Letter

MARCH 2024 SPRINGTIME

March is a month I most look forward to and when I feel like, spring really has arrived in all her glory. The landscape suddenly bursts into bud and fresh young leaves start to slowly appear on the once bare branches of winter.

End of March the days get longer and the nights get shorter as the clocks go into summertime and that extra hour makes everyone a bit happier. I won’t put away my winter coats away just yet and my woollens still stay firmly in my wardrobe.

But I really do love this transitional period, when on most days you can start to venture out without being so wrapped up.

Springtime is a time of renewal, natures rebirth. Capture this moment and invite nature indoors by potting up spring bulbs and bringing inside.

Make use of containers you may already have to beautifully arrange your bulbs in and be creative with your arrangements. I usually put a few twigs around the edge of the pot to support them as they flower and also to create a bit of drama.

In the home, come spring I usually put away my thicker, richer winter throws and cushions. I then replace them with textures of spring, soft, creamy pastel coloured throws and cushions that echoes the softness of this spring season.

To finish my springtime look, I add a big vase of daffodils along side a pot of spring bulbs to banish away all those winter blues and welcome spring.

Happy spring

Warm regards

Tara
